Metro Development Program
The Metro Development
Program is designed for players (boys and girls) in the U8, U9 and U10 age groups who are
interested in preparing for Premier teams when they reach U11.
The
Metro program is the main way PAC can prepare recreational players for the more
competitive level of play they will experience in the division 1/premiere
programs. The Metro Development
Program’s is a recreational program structured to be an enjoyable environment
for the players. We require that each child play at least half (usually 75%) of
each game and that no child will play more than half the game as goalkeeper.
The Metro program provides
professional instruction and participation in practices and games with/against
similarly focused players. These professional training sessions further develop
the individual skills necessary to advance. Very few players have the athletic
ability to overcome the absence of skill training at a young age.
Teams will play a competitive schedule against other clubs and in local
tournaments, usually within a 50-mile radius from New Orleans.
Each Metro team has a weekly training session conducted by a professional
coach. An additional practice and all games are conducted by the volunteer
parent coaches. Parent volunteers are heavily relied upon in this program.
The cost is approximately $380. The referee and tournament fees are an
additional $120 and the uniforms are approximately $60 and will be used for 2
years. The game schedule is determined by the coach and parents.
